Reminders
- CLAIMS
- All claims are due by the 3rd of the month.
- Claims received after the 3rd are considered late. All late claims must be turned in by the 10th of the following month to be eligible for reimbursement.
- Make sure your claim is complete before you submit the documentation to our office.
- Review your claim summary and error report every month. If you are not sure what the error is or have questions about an error, contact Andrea.
- FOOD SAFETY AND SANITATION
- Keep refrigerators at or below 40 degrees F and freezers at or below 0 degrees.
- Wash hands before preparing foods and after handling food and after using the restroom.
- Children wash hands before and after eating and after using the restroom.
- Food prep areas, tables and highchairs must be washed with soap and water first, then sanitized.
- WHAT WE LOOK FOR AT A REVIEW
- Compliance with CACFP program requirements.
- Verify posters and license are posted.
- Check that meal participation records are up to date.
- Check infant feeding records
- Review 5 days of menus
- Observe sanitation procedures – washing tables, sanitizing, children and adults wash hands.
- Make sure meal pattern requirements including serving sizes are being met at observed meal.
- Check refrigerator and freezer temps to ensure foods are stored at the correct temp.
- Verify the labels are being kept for the whole grains (WG), cereals, yogurts, CN labels and product formulation statements.
- Verify the provider is keeping required records-copy of CACFP contract with 4Cs, copy of enrollment forms, etc.
